Last week I attended the preview for Benefit Cosmetic’s new product, fakeup. A new concealer that not only covers imperfections, but hydrates and reduces the dreading creasing look that some concealers can do. The Benefit gals had the San Francisco boutique on Chestnut Street spruced up for the preview party complete with champagne, cupcakes and of course giving us beauty lovers a taste of fakeup. For you benegals out there, one of my favorites of this fabulous line is their packaging – eye candy I must say.
Each of us gals who attended the preview event got to take home fakup to “test drive” and since then I have been using it daily. With my skin being on the normal to dry side, it’s really important for me to find a concealer that is not cakey nor leaves my skin looking even more dehydrated with results of bad creasing. fakeup comes in the form of a stick (similar to a lipstick packaging). The gal who applied it on me at the preview party suggests the top of the cheekbone, but I apply it under my eyes to hide the dark circles, around my nose where my skin is more on the red side and around my lips to prep for my lipstick. I blend the concealer with a small angled brush instead of my fingers to get an even blended look, then set it with a powder.
My overall take on fakeup is…GET IT! I only had to reapply once towards the 2nd half of the day which is not a problem for me. Better than having to reapply 3-4 times a day. It’s packed with Vitamin E and apple seed extract which help keep your skin looking fabulous. I also like how it’s compact and can easily be taken with you just about anywhere and in any purse, clutch, etc.
fakup comes in 3 different shades (light, medium and dark) and will be available for purchase on February 19th, so mark your calendars and pay a visit to your local Benefit Cosmetics Boutique or counter or online at www.benefitcosmetics.com.
