Nails are a huge part of the beauty industry and with a wide range of nail polishes, colors, effects, I thought it would be exciting to add a color from none other than Illamasqua.
I brought the Illamasqua nail varnish in Faux Pas to Dina’s Nail Art Fetish (my nail technician) who applied the color on using a different brand base and top coat. When she first applied the varnish, I noticed that this specific color had a matte finish to it, which particularly didn’t appeal to me, however, adding a shiny top coat made a huge difference. I was certainly drawn to the mute purple color (not too bright, not too dark and more of a blue violet tone).
After only wearing it for about 4 days, I did notice a chip on one of my nails. Their box does say that the nail varnishes are “hardwearing and chip-resistant”. Being a mom of two I am constantly washing my hands and being active, so I’m sure that the chip could have been more prevented if I wasn’t too rough with my nails.
I would rate Illamasqua’s Nail Varnish a 3!
